Ashton Walker spent his childhood at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary in Baguio City, Philippines, with the occasional summer working at the Great Joy Christian Media Center in Singapore. Now he lives in the refugee resettlement hub of Clarkston, a two square mile municipality within the metro Atlanta, Georgia area. Along with his wife and two children he is a member of St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church. He holds a Masters in Urban Studies with an emphasis on urban history from Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. He is passionate about the way the Church speaks to the shifting balance of wealth and poverty in our cities. Most recently he has been teaching elementary school Social Studies and Science. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and volunteering on Clarkston’s Historic Preservation Commission.
